Life can be turned upside down by events outside our control—divorce, accidents, grief, unemployment, injury, sexual assault, or other life-threatening situations. These experiences can leave deep imprints on the body and mind. Even after the event is over, many people find themselves “stuck” in patterns of anxiety, fear, or shutdown. This is common with PTSD and other trauma responses. It can affect sleep, focus, relationships, work, and the ability to feel safe and joyful in daily life.

As a trauma therapist, I work with queer and neurodiverse (“neurospicy”) folks as well as anyone who feels like traditional therapy hasn’t quite fit. Using EMDR, somatic therapy, and mindfulness-based tools, I help clients process traumatic experiences, reduce distress, and reconnect with resilience.

Who I work with: Relationships (affirming care for non-monogamous relationships, relationship anarchists++), neurodiverse coping, divorce and family reshaping, individuals (18+), survivors, athletes (size-inclusive), folks in need of peripartum and perimenopausal support, and the 2SLGBTQIA+/queer community.

In relationship with participants, my approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and I draw on somatic and mindfulness-based interventions. This means that you can expect a non-judgemental environment to increase your understanding of self with the belief that each person has their own force for therapeutic change within themselves.

I utilize the frameworks of social justice, intersectionality, and preemptive radical inclusion. I operate with a transfeminist and queer theory lens and work towards a sex and gender expansive world.

EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, is a psychotherapy approach used to help individuals process distressing memories and traumatic experiences. This therapy involves bilateral stimulation, such as side-to-side eye movements or tapping, while the individual recalls the traumatic event. The goal is to help the brain reprocess these memories, reducing their emotional intensity and enabling the individual to develop more adaptive coping mechanisms. EMDR can be effective in treating various conditions, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, and other trauma-related suffering.
